In September 2022, the first phase began of a three-phase project to rehabilitate a 3.5 mile segment of Borden Road (CR 322), from Broadway (SR 130) at the northern extent to Seneca Creek Road (CR 325) at the southern extent. This first phase of construction will span a 1.2 mile section from Broadway to Strasmer Road, spanning the Town of Cheektowaga and the Village of Depew, and has an approximate construction cost of $11.4 million dollars. The construction will be comprised of milling and overlay of asphalt pavement, full depth reconstruction of roadway and shoulder pavements, installation of new concrete gutter curb, replacement of the storm drainage system, replacement of the sanitary sewer force main for the County’s Division of Sewerage Management and some partial water main replacement work for Erie County Water Authority.
Construction will typically be ongoing daily Monday through Friday, beginning at 7:00 am. Some Saturday work may occasionally be required depending upon weather and project progress. Construction has a target completion date of November 2023.
